Trouble getting stays credited at Heathrow

Hi all,

As I'm getting ready to submit yet another claim for a missing stay, I was wondering if this is something about me, or about the Heathrow Marriott and the Heathrow Renaissance.

In almost every case, especially at the Heathrow Marriott, my stay does not get credited. I never have this problem anywhere else in the world. My MR number is on my record before I go there, it's even on my bill, but no automatic credit.

Anyone else have this experience with these two particular hotels?

Cheers,

GenevaFlyer

I've had exactly the same issue at Heathrow so you're not alone, why it should be no idea. Just a hassle to then have to submit the invoice some weeks after the event... and then get it corrected as the Platinum bonus hasn't been added! As has been voiced on the board in the past I do feel there should be some kind of penalty (i.e. bonus for the customer) where hotels simply don't post the miles....

Hi,

No problems with my stay at the LHR Marriott on 27th April ( points posted relatively quickly) ( also got upgarded to the Executive floor - no lounge access) . However I was given a smoking room as there was no non smoking rooms available ( at booking it did say Non smoking was a request). I could smell a little bit of cigarette smoke occasionally but it was not too bad)

All,

One thing I have to say, regardless of the trouble I have with these 2 hotels, Marriott is good at crediting my account once I fax over my missing stay claim ... it's being posted right now (i.e. my totals have been updated, but the stay is not visible yet).

Banking_Scot, thanks for the Hilton news, but in the Marriott forum, I was mentioning Marriott's .... (sorry, can't resist the barb as I'm sitting in yet another airline lounge waiting for my flight).

I have had trouble with stays being credited at the London Kensington Marriott and the Sunderland Marriott this year. I call the customer service line and they were to get copies of the bills from the hotels. It generally takes a couple of calls before the hotels fax the paperwork. There is something about some international properties that just don't do what is expected.

Good luck.

Hi,

Ooops, I',m very sorry for the error! Thanks for pointing it out! I, of course meant the Marriott which is where I stayed on 27th April ( I'm so used to staying at Hiltons I typed it in by error) !!:D :o

A stay not being credited can sometimes be beneficial. I had a stay at a Courtyard here in the UK at Easter. The stay did not post so I submitted a copy of my bill and they credited the points as they do at FS properties - i.e. 10 points per $ on everything including incidentals. All this and double points because of Mega Bonus too!

I've stayed at LHR Ren several times & I think the points have not posted only once; rest of time they do. Sometimes they miss the 500 points, but cust svc adds them manually. Cheers.

I stay at the LHR Renaissance pretty well every week for a couple of nights, so I'm a bit of an expert on this topic (sad but true)

In my experience, if your reservation quotes your MRW number, i.e. you can see the reservation on your account online, then the points will post, usually after 48 hours.

If the number isn't quoted on the reservation, and even if you hand over your card at check in and the number is quoted on your invoice, it simply won't post and you'll have to fax in your invoice afterwards.

I don't know why it works like that, but it does.
