Marriott Covington, KY Concierge Room

http://marriott.com/hotels/travel/cv...t-rivercenter/

While I like the indoor self park (now $8), the rooms, Revive bedding and room service dining in this hotel, the Concierge Room is not very good IMO. The only hot food in the evening I was there was small pastry with cheese balls and the rest was cheese, chips, peanuts, etc. Honor Bar was a bit pricey - mixed drinks $6 and glass of wine the same. At breakfast time the only hot food was a rather tasteless scrambled eggs and the normal toasts, OJ, coffee, etc.

The gal in the room at night was barely there, other than to fill up her plate and leave with drinks. Nobody there in the morning at all while I was there. At least the premium for Concierge gave me free WIFI. :)

Wow....

I was there a little over a year ago and thought they did a great job....and they were open over the weekend. Either they've gone downhill in a hurry or you hit it at an "off" time.

Quick report on the Rivercenter Marriott - had a random ug on a recent stay (property seemed pretty full) and was excited about the concierge lounge. They are open VERY sparse hours on the weekends (i.e. Friday morning, about two hours total in the evening on Saturday, and then Sunday evening). Stopped by quickly for the spread - not that much, some soft drinks and water, honor bar, some cold nibbles and one hot dish (chicken skewers).

Rooms are fine - about as one would expect. Got a corner room but facing the wrong way. River view rooms do seem nicer, as you can see the stadium(s) and the skyline.

I had breakfast plans but assume that they would provide breakfast in the restaurant if you were staying in the concierge floors or elite member.

It was kind of loud at one point, some kids ran by in the middle of the night and were hollering at each other. This seems to be a property that def caters to groups/events and weddings (they have a permanent room with wedding option displays and the such; and they are connected to the convention center by a skybridge).

Did the self park, $10 per day max (no in/out privileges as they are not part of the hotel), very convenient as it has a connection to the ground floor of the hotel (lobby is a few floors up via elevator). You'll want to park in the lot that is connected to the north side of the building, with the entrance on the street to the East of the hotel (between the Marriott and the Embassy Suites, which was sold out for my stay!).
