Maybe it's off-topic for this thread, but since y'all are talking about CY...
...now that Marriott is actually building new Courtyards as "near-full-service" hotels, complete with a restaurant, lobby bar, etc., when will they ever add the brand to the list that allows members to earn points on incidentals? I don't even get the logic behind that at all. I stay at the CY Seattle 5-6 times a year (mainly when the two FS Marriotts are sold out). They seem to have a nice little lounge there in the lobby, but I've never walked into it because that stupid policy irks me so much. At the crosstown Renaissance, I grab a sandwich and a couple of beers at the bar all the time. But noooo....at CY, I traipse out into the cold looking for my sandwich & beers at one of the other places around Lake Union. Seems like a simple fix that Marriott could make. Wouldn't it be profitable to encourage people to use the hotel services? I understood it under the old CY model where there really wasn't anything in the hotel to buy except a Coke, but now it seems that they are elevating the brand to some extent. |
