Pay with Gift Certificates - do you get points?
I apologize for posting this question twice but I posted in the Diners Club forum and didn't get a response.
Diners Club gives certificates worth $$$ that can be used to pay for Marriott stays. These are different than the certificates that provide a free night or a free weekend. I assume that if you use the certificates that provide a free night that you do not get points. However, I was wondering if you book a paid stay and then pay with these certificates, if you get points for the stay.
Thanks.

as long as they are treated as cash(meaning there is a $$$ amount and not a free night cert)they are most certainly earn points.

Great - that is exactly what they are - certs with $$$ amounts on them. So if you have a Diners Club, this is a free stay that earns points!
