Stay downtown and ride the trolley to the nightlife. |

If you've never been to Memphis, Beale Street is the place to check out; but it's hard to go wrong with anything downtown. Concentrate your search around the 200 block of Beale.

Thank You!!!! Now which marriott is closest to Beale St?
http://marriott.com/hotels/travel/me...phis-downtown/ "Within walking distance to Auto Zone Park, Beale Street . . . ." http://marriott.com/hotels/travel/me...iott-downtown/ "we're close to . . . the world-renowned Beale Street . . . ." |
The Memphis Marriott Downtown is not exactly next door to Beale St. but is not a bad walk either.
The trolley stops in front of the hotel and you ride it to Beale St. and visa-versa. The hotel itself is actually pretty nice and the C-lounge has some of the best staff around. Dan |

Walking around Downtown Memphis at night is not the safest thing to do. If you are in a goup of three or more people, you might be OK.
The RI is six blocks north of Beale st. The SHS is eight blocks north of Beale st. The Marriott is about 16 blocks north of Beale st. So you obviosly want to stay at the RI to be close to Beale/nightlife. |
Of the 3, the RI is the newest (I think a year old). The SHS and the full service are older. I've stayed at the full service and IMHO was not terribly impressed with the property or service. I've never tried the other 2, but would try RI if the price was right, since it's a few blocks closer to Beale.

Stay at the Marriott-Dtown, its a little away from the bar scene but the trolley run behind it and for $1 you can be on Beale st....
