Status Upgrade
So, I have had a couple different answers to this question. I thought I would try here and see if I get a commono answer.
When moving up in status do they go by how many nights per calendar year that you stay, or is it by a rolling 12 months? Thanks for the help. |
The answer is yes. :p
According to some of the Marriott insiders on this forum and to posts from members here, Marriott will use a rolling 12-month window for your upgrading you to the next higher elite level. Once you attain that elite level, Marriott will stick with the calender year accumulation. I would suspect though, that if one fell to a lower level, and then was able to accumulate the needed night credits within a rolling 12-month window, one would again be upgraded. |
Will I need to call Marriott to get the status upgraded?
Right now I have 32 nights and will not be staying at another Marriott until January. I stated this run back in April 2006. So, from April to December I have 32 stays. Now, I should have 50 nights in Febrary sometime. Will I need to call them, or will it automatically be upgraded? |
Marriott does a status sweep every two weeks to upgrade those who qualify on a rolling 12 month basis.

thanks
