Coupon sharing..
Hi,
I recently obtained a Marriott credit card. The card comes with a coupon for one free night's stay at class 1-4 properties. The coupon explicitly states that it is not transferable. However, my wife and I have the same last name, and as I understand California law, we represent one legal entity. I'm wondering if I could get away with having her use the certificate for a reservation that listed both of us. Has anyone tried this? Any advice? Thanks, Robert |
In the past, I have made reservations with the family and used those coupons. But because of last minute changes, I either couldn't go, or had to arrive a day or two later. In those instances, I just made sure that both my wife's and my names were on the reservation. She brought the coupon and gave it to the hotel at check-in. In those few times, we have never had any issues or problems.
I suspect that as long as the last names are the same, there probably won't be any issues with using them. But that is only a guess based off the few times my family and I have done that. |
Thank you for taking the time to post your experience. I'll give it a try.
