Why is "DO NOT USE" on my res?
I made 2 res for the same nights at the same Marriott. Both of them have "Refrigerator, extra towels, DO NOT USE have been noted...."
Where did the Do Not Use come from? What does it mean? I ended up cancelling one res, and will probably cancel the other, but enquiring minds want to know. |
Did you use a rate code that brought up a statement that said "Do Not Use --to be booked only by Hotel" or some such thing?
Is that why you are leaning to canceling the other reservation -- that you have some suspicion that you booked a rate that should only be booked directly through the hotel, and with the hotel management's permission? Are you divulging all you know about how this rate came about to this board? Have I hit the nail on the head? |
No, it was just the regular, plain vanilla weekend rate so that I could use my MBB.
|
Well, if that is the case, I would call the Platinum desk and ask them what is going on as they can see more details of your reservation than you can. Advise them that you want this straightened out before you travel to the property, and it would probably also be a good idea to advise them that you would llike to use the bonus buck with that rate, as that is what is required of you, I believe, before using same.
Good luck! |
If you have preferences set-up within your Marriott Rewards for when you make a reservation. For some reason some properties come up with 'Do not use' on the reservation under the preferences section. Something screwy with the formatting by the look of it.
Does this tie up with what the OP has reported? |
Yes, it looked like it might be tied in with my preferences, because the refrigerator and extra towels are set in my preferences.
To reply to previous poster, I have never called in advance to advise of using MBB. I have always just showed up with MBB in my hand and they were accepted. |

But I believe the T & C of the BB are the same as your EEO offers, especially the 2 for 1 weekend offer. Therefore, the hotel could deny use of the BB, I suppose. |
