Cool, LegalEagle! I am in Grand Cayman now at a hotel 1 mile south called Sunshine Suites, but my Volleyball Vacations group is playing at the beach across the street from the CY (next to Calico Jack's.)
Please Stop by & ask for "Double-B!" Identify yourself as LegalEagle! Tomorrow I shall transfer to Comfort Suites using 3x 25K Choice points from CO/AGR, staying till Tue.! |

Ok...so here's one to ponder....
D Why is it that we complain about Marriott's training programs for their personnel - but when one of them does exactly what they are supposed to do, we are upset about it???? Do we like training (or lack of it) only when it benefits us??? Gotta love us Ft'ERS! |
Beach Volleyball
Not getting in until 1p.m. Saturday. Let me know where the team is playing.
Like watching beach volleyball but am not very good. Also let me know where Saturday the team will dine and party.:) |
Frankly I understood from the title of the post that you were denied because you are a MR member, and that is not the case. You were denied for the special rate.
Just don't use a member rate. When you reserve your hotel on the web site all sorts of rates come up. Use Corp or whatever shows that shows up without having to log in. PP and BB should be good on any/all of those, whether you are a member of MR or not. If that rate minus 100 is better then the MR rate that's that. Seems pretty simple to me. I am entitled to the VIP rate, sometimes it is better that the regular rates sometimes not, and compared to regular + PP/BB it is often not the best rate. Just do the math and follow the rules of what you are given. |
Sorry, LE, we got here last Sat. & are leaving tomorrow. Most of us will have left for the airport by 1PM.
I intend to do karaoke 9PM--12Mid. at either the Office 945-5212 of downtown Georgetown or Fidel Murphy's 949-5189 half way there. Payphones across the street from the CY charge 10c for a local call. |

I have tried on several occasions (always when I would be willing to pay without them or could cancel/rebook without penalty).
I have never had success using them on meb or eBreaks, as you have to be a "MEMBER" of the mailing list to receive the rate. Anyone can access it without password or membership. |

Hope is not a sound investment strategy.
If they do not accept them with my corporate rate I have at least 2 rooms for 4 nights coming up in Vegas that are booked at a "publicly" aviable rate. So I guess its hope with a hedge. Even without that it wouldn't be a huge deal to lose $100 on this bet....I mean hope. |

JUST REMEMBER - you must stay 2 nights, and the rules are that it must be a rack rate. I have had properties take them on special rates, but many will not, and they are in their rights not to do so!

Red faced here -

Yes you must stay 2 nights (per coupon) but you do not have to stay on rack rate. The rules state that the rate must be a publicly available one, so any rate which does not require ID or membership and is not a negotiated group or corporate rate is OK.
And YES, I have often made res on line & used them - but the hotel could have turned them down and been within their rights to do so. I am a platinum, so it does not worry me that much - but if I had lesser standing, or use of the cert was really important to me, I would do it by the book. Even as a Plat, I HAVE had hotels refuse them on a MR rate - and again, they were in their rights to do so, so I had a choice - pay the rate they told me, OR don't use the BB. In both cases, the BB was still a better deal. |
Anyone Received these yet ?
Has anyone received their order yet ?
I have not ? Thanks - SG |
