When I submitted the PP cert at check-in, one place said they will write the guests name and put it in a deposit box and apply at check out, so I requested a copy of it just in case they misplace it. The other places said I need to present them at check out.

I handed my PP cert and Gift card together and was a bit unsure if they will not accept it, but it worked out fine. YMMV.

I don't know about you, but I paid Marriott 100 cents on the dollar for my GCs and a whole lotta trouble will ensue if I can't use my PPs when the time comes.

That said, I have not had problems with this in the past....we'll see.

damon2 Jan 3, 2008 6:56 am

well I only paid 90 cents on the dollar for the GC's and since the PP T&C excluded the prepaid cards I was prepared to pay the balance with my CC and use my PP.

But like I said I never had the problem.

locanmures,

can you point me to the reply from Marriott concierge?
I looked around and could not find the related thread.

It seems that Marriott is "cracking" down the usage and makes hotels to actually to follow the terms in order to get reimbursement. One hotel that used to apply these quite liberally has got quite strict accepting them lately. I was told that Marriott hadn't reimbursed the hotel for a great number of BB's/PP's they had accepted.

$100 Marriott Bonus Bucks w/$20 coupon purchase from Geico

Spend $20 and Get $100 off a Two-Night Stay

I was on Geico Privileges looking a different coupon and I came across this. You can sign up at Geico Priviliges without being a Geico customer unless you are from Ohio. I use them for lots of different coupons.

How to Save
Purchase a coupon for only $20 and get $100 off a two-night stay at Marriott Hotels & Resorts, JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, or Renaissance Hotels & Resorts worldwide.

Terms & Conditions
Offer valid through 07/15/2008. $100 Bonus Bucks Coupon is good toward a consecutive two (2) night paid stay at Marriott Hotels & Resorts, JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, or Renaissance Hotels & Resorts worldwide. To receive credit, you must be a registered guest and the coupon must be presented to the Front Desk at check-in. Coupon cannot be accepted at gift shops or food and beverage outlets. See reverse side of coupon for reservation information and terms and conditions. Sorry for the wonky link, but it should work.

Thank you for posting this. Do you think the July date is when the BB expire or when the date for doing this expires. I need it to be good through the end of July.

damon2 Jan 4, 2008 8:45 am

That looks like an expiry date for the BBs.

I wouldn't be concerned. This is from the Geico website; they have offers similar to this all the time; these certs are very often purchased in large lots by corporations for promos such as this.

I've ordered several. Thanks to the OP.

(And by the way, I screwed up in entering my credit card expiration date; I emailed Geico at the address on the site, and received a prompt email back with instructions on what to do. I'm certain it's legit.)

I ordered a couple, I'll let 'ya know.

Also, no shipping, handling, or postage fee. They just charged me the $40.
