Hi,

I am looking to take advantage of Marriott's 'Look No Further' price guarantee, where they will match a cheaper price and reduce the price by a further 25%.

Has anyone tried this before, and is it fairly straight forward ??

Also, has anyone any experience of doing this, and also using a Marriott Bonus Bucks voucher or similar ??

I am planning on staying at the Springhill Suites - International Drive area, Orlando.

Thanks
Daniel

I have done exactly this many times. I have used the "Look No Further Guarantee" with bonus bucks in Mexico and Hawaii without problems. The biggest bang for your buck is using the "guarantee" with Premium Pounds at Marriotts or JWs.

Premium Pounds-cant use?

I just realized the Premium Pounds certificate I have expires on March 8, I have a reservation end of March that I thought I'd use it for, so I have screwed up! Is there anywhere to possibly swap certificates, or anything Marriott would/could do to get me a later expiration?

Welcome to FT :)

You can always list it in the coupon connection forum. But with the expiry date around the corner I don't think you'll have much luck. Marriott will not extend expiry dates on Bonus Bucks. The best you can do is try and use it so it won't go to waste...

I don't believe that she can use CC with one post

I cannot find this coupon connection? Searched for it last night no luck, can someone enlighten me. Would love to swap out or trade this certificate. Thanks, and thanks for the welcome as well :)

There is a little bit of information on from the Help menu at the top of FT. Look under the FAQ option to find a question on OMNI and Coupon Connection access. You should be able to do a search of "Coupon Connection" in the "CommunityBuzz" forum and you will find more info in some threads on this.

Coupon Connection is a sub-forum under the Community forum. You won't be able to see it until you have the access rights. And per the FAQ I mentioned earlier that would be 90 days/90 posts for you. Coupon Connection gives FTers a place to trade all those miles/points and other benes that we may have aquired.

I'll have to go check that Coupon Connection out... 87 posts from now
I should have been posting instead of lurking, however I have picked up much valuable info here so no complaints! Thanks!

Bonus Bucks Question

Gang,

New to Marriott program here.

I see reference to Bonus Bucks which I believe are $100 coupons.

Are there specific rates that have to be booked? Or is there just a booking code to use?

Also, anyone know if they can be earned on Residence Inn stays?

Can they be earned on "negotiated" rates?

Sorry if questions have been answered... tried searching... timing out.

Thanks in advance.

William

There are very specific restrictions (that have only been getting worse) on the use of Bonus Bucks. They have to be used for publicly available rates and they cannot require membership (e.g., AAA).

In terms of earning them, I have not seen any promotions for a Residence Inn, but that does not mean they do not exist.

Thanks....

I am actually trying to see if I can earn them for my extended stay at the Residence Inn.... been here 5 months... would love some $100 bonus bucks for the efforts.

Any other thoughts?

Residence Inns can give out Bonus Bucks though they tend to be the $50 for nights, $25 for one night rates (rather than $100/$50 seen at FS Marriotts).

Now the harder question is does your particular RI have one of those rates. Don't know, but I have been getting Bonus Buck offered for the m11 rate code. Note that you may have to try various check-in/out dates. A lot of times, those rates are only valid on weekend stays. So you may have to get one reservation for midweek and a different one for the weekend.

Also, you might be able to call the hotel and they may be able to tell you if they have any rates where they give Bonus Bucks out.

M11 rate code earns bonus bucks; I think only on most Thur-Sun stays. Can also be located on online auction for ~30 cents on the dollar.
The $100 bonus bucks are only good for Marriott, Renaissance, and JW Marriott properties. Same with the 100 Premium Pounds and 100 Extra Euros. I personally prefer the 100 Premium Pounds, since they're worth around $200.
The 50 demoninations are good at all properties.
Bonus Bucks require a two night stay for redemption.

Personally, I buy 100 Premium Pound coupons and use them for Marriott & Rennaissance hotels - it usually ends up being the cheapest way to stay at any Marriott property.
