Bucks only for SFB ?

Does one get the bucks for ANY stays of only for the SFB (stay for breakfast)?

Any experience?

Counsellor Jul 28, 2006 7:00 am

No, not for just any stay. The stays that give you a Bonus Bucks are special promotions. Various promotions carry various identifiers. It may depend on the property or the country you're in, or many other factors. At one time, OTP was a promotion that offered Bonus Bucks (or Extra Euros or Premium Pounds, depending).

And, of course, sometimes the BB, EE or PP are given for shopping with Marriott, or as a rebate promotion for purchase of IT equipment, or (in one case) for getting a one-year membership in an Italian restaurant frequent patron club.

Lech,

As Counsellor indicated, the OTP code was a promotonal code geared toward BBs, as well as the OP7 code.

Currently, the code that's used to receive BBs is the M11 code. I've seen this available on the Eastern seaboard.

As stated earlier, for more information, refer to my previous post and click on the thread: Questions about Bonus Bucks usage. More of your questions about BBs can be answered here.

Can a $50 bonus check I get from Courtyard be used at a marriott?

Are there any restrictions against the checks from the different hotels or are all of the Bonus Checks good for all the hotels? Marriott,Fairfield Inn, courtyard?

I'm asking becaue I'm going on a trip and would prefer to stay at the Marriott but we normally stay at Courtyards/Fairfield and don't want to end up with a Bonus Check I can't use there.

Meanie65 Jul 28, 2006 4:38 pm

The Bonus Bucks are brand specific. The $100 are generally for full service brands, and the $50.00 are for the limited brands.

They are sometimes offered by Marriott hotels in connection with a promotion. And as you note, they are nearly always available on Ebay.

Can I use Bonus Bucks on a AAA rate stay?

I recently stayed over the weekend at the Marriot Metro Center in DC and received a $100 Bonus Bucks coupon. I'm planning on another 2 night weekend stay at the South Beach Marriott in September but I reserved those with a
"AAA***STAY FOR BREAKFAST PACKAGE**" package.

I read the back of the Bonus Bucks and didn't read any such restrictions but does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

I have not had a problem in the past. I used BB at the JW in Orlando on a combo AAA reservation and points stay.

Good luck.

The official answer is no. YMMV.

Got burned on that one myself. They would not let me do it.

Officially, if it's not a pubilcly available rate, then no. However, I've used this on AAA and M11 (BB code on the east coast) rates before. So, all you can do is just ask the front desk to apply the BB to your account as see what they say.

The official answer that I got was YES. If you can book it through the website, it is a publicly available rate and the Bonus Buck can be used against.

Marriott told me it was not available for specially negotiated Convention and Corporate rates.

I have never ever had a problem using them as long as I booked one of the primary categories available off Marriott.com.

Bonus Bucks - No Expiration in California

I heard somewhere that Marriott Bonus Bucks don't expire in California - something to do they are treated like gift certificates under CA law. Can anyone confirm this?

There are a number of ways the Bonus Bucks can be acquired (other than ebay). See discussions in the below threads:

And other promotions use them as well. Last year there was a promotion where you would get a $100 Bonus Buck for test driving a new Buick.

Hope this helps.

This topic was discussed sometime back in this thread, but no conclusion was reached.

If anyone knows of a ruling on this, it could be helpful to others who had their Bonus Bucks expire.
