I complained but without any success, then I asked them if I'm able to give the BB with my name on it to friends or relatives, they said yes, other people could use the BB certs, although they have my name on it. My question now, because I can't use them on my next stays, is this information correct? Can someone else use the coupons?

You were led astray, you should have been allowed to use the BB. Call the Marriott Rewards line and ask to get a manager familiar with the corporate policy. They should be able to get the property to apply the BB since you did attempt to use it for qualifying stay. However, you should have gotten them to take the BB at check in and then asked for a receipt.

I've run into more and more problems with using BB in the last year or so. There seems to have been a directive by someone in corporate for properties to closely scrutinize the use of BB and some properties seem to have interpreted this as a mandate to reject their use at any rate that is below a more typical rack rate, including some publicly available rates and LNF rates which are Ppblicly available rate bookings (the discount is applied after booking and is only acrrued because of the guarantee.) Marriott somehow has managed to turn a once very successful incentive program to one full of too many hassles.

Good morning,

Bonus Bucks may be used in conjunction with a LNF rate, as long as the rate originally booked is eligible. If you have any questions whether Bonus Bucks may be combined with the originally booked rate, please send us a PM.

Best regards,

Drew

To share with you, I also have similar worries and send my reservation number in May (Munich) through Marriott.com's contact page, asking them to confirm that I can apply the bonus bucks to that particular LNF rate reservation, they replied in 24 hours confirmed in writing that the Bonus Bucks can be applied. So I am very pleased since I have this written confirmation to avoid inconvenience during check-in.

There's a promotion out there right now at some properties where if you reserve three nights, pay with VISA, the third night is free. The promotion is available to anyone who goes to the Marriott website (i.e., no ID or membership required, just a VISA card).

To my mind, nothing prohibits using a Bonus Buck certificate with this promotion. Agreed?

some of my friends had been told by several oversea hotels that BBs or PPs could not conjuction used with Visa B2G3 promotion

To my recollection, there are at least two threads where Marriott Concierge has said (and also has personally advised me with respect to a specific reservation I had) that BB cannot be used with a stay of ANY length that involves the use of a Bogo. It may not seem to make sense if your stay is at least 3 nights, but that is the way it is (at least according to my experience).

You need 2 paid nights for the BB and another 2 nights (one paid) for the EEO. I have done back to back reservations at one property using a BB and an EEO respectively.

The T&C's on BB's I have seen state that they cannot be used with any other promotion.

Agree with GRIZ and VA - best that you could do is book the 3 for 2; than another 2 (on which) you could use the BB. Would have to be separate, although they could be consecutive.

Remember, if the rate rules state, "This rate cannot be combined with other Marriott certificates and/or offers," (or other similar verbiage) Bonus Bucks cannot be used. For example, the terms and conditions of the Visa B2G3 offer mentioned earlier in this thread state, "Stays booked under this promotion are not combinable with any other discounts or promotional offers," which includes Bonus Bucks (this information may be found through the following webpage by clicking on the "Terms and Conditions" link at the bottom left-hand side of the page: http://www.marriott.com/marriott.mi?page=3for2).

Best regards,

I'm not a lawyer, but thinking more of this, IMHO T&C of Bonus Bucks should prevail even if the promotion with the "This rate cannot be combined .. " wording is systemwide.

I as a customer reviewed the Bonus Bucks T&C (" .. any PUBLICLY AVAILABLE rate ..") and decided I can make use of them, so stayed under the promotion that gives Bonus Bucks.

Now after that Marriott releases publicly available rates but says I can't use BB on these, thus limiting the value of BB. I may be wrong but I don't think it's legally allowed unless "T&C can be changed at any time" was included. The former, broader T&C should be given preference as the property "sold" me (via higher room rate) BB with these T&C being part of the deal.

Not the ones I have currently...

I don't think that's correct. Marriott Concierge, could you please reply to this and this post in this thread?

OP here just adding that when I was making my Elite BOGO Fri & Sat night ressie, I asked the Marriott rep if I added a paid 3rd night, could I use a BB?

The Marriott rep said, yes.

She said that the BOGO would include 1 aid night and i free night, consequently, if I added a publicly available 3 night (Sun) then I could use a BB.

Before I make that 3rd night res, I'd really appreciate a definitive answer.

Thanks!
