I was told by one hotel that they don't compare names on the voucher with the guest's name on the reservation. You should be fine as they are transferrable after all.

Megabonus credit using PP

For this specific promo has anyone used a PP toward payment and paid the balance on the visa and had Megabonus credit post for the nights stayed?

I ask b/c I'm doing this next weekend and I should have about a $20 balance to pay after the PP credit

I know in the past its posted as a MB credit but I'm just checking that nothing has changed this time around

I was supposed to be going back to Wuhan for most of this October, but the winds of the corporate world can be fickle. Things have changed and it doesn't look like I will be going back anytime soon. :(

Yes I have used it with the Megabonus promo. Just ensure that there is a balance that is settled with VISA.

I just looked on e-bay & PPs are now selling for ~US$100 each instead of the $70 of this April, while BBs cost only $40. So now we can pay $60 extra to save an extra $84 (right forex rate) or $70 at some hotels. For use in the USA, the small gain is only slightly worth the inconvenience of dealing with a Marriott employee who may not have a clue that England doesn't use dollars but has its own money ;).

Marriott raised the price of the various certificates earlier this year. I saw a website where you could buy them as incentive certificates. The Bonus Bucks ($25, $50, $100) cost 25 % of face value, and you had to buy 100 at a time of the same denomination.

Do you have a link to that website?

I found it via a random Google search. The website was not geared towards individuals.

I had not realised I should be getting the points for the £100 I was paying with a PP, 'till I read this thread. I would say that over the last year I have had a couple of hotels credit it me for the £100, which I thought was a mistake, so didn't rock the boat!

Anyway, i have just had three stays using one (two haven't even posted yet, Marriott Concierge are kindly working on this and other problems for me). Anyway, the stay at Leicester Marriott posted, but not correctly, not for the first time I had barely any points and the stay recorded as 28/09-28/09, so as I have a contact there I e-mailed and while I was at it I reminded them I should get credit for the whole £155 (before tax) not just the remainder after the PP was taken off. Has this posted? Nope, I got just less than half the points I should have. They seem to think it cunning to take £50 off each night on a two night stay and I think that is how it is happening, that way it looks like I paid £35 a night, not £85.

Well, I will keep you posted. I have e-mailed Marriott Concierge and hopefully they are also keeping abreast of this thread. Some training required at UK hotels I think...

I have had the same issue as hartleypig many times when staying in UK and European Marriott properties. In fact, the only European property I've stayed at which has processed a PP coupon exactly as described on the coupon itself is the Ghent Marriott in Belgium.

What I now do (and I think it was SkiAdcock who suggested this) is keep the 'preliminary' bill which is slipped under the door on the morning of checkout and, if the points are posted incorrectly, email a copy of this bill to the Elite desk so they may amend it. A pain in the arse, I know, but it works.

Using Free Weekend Night and Bonus Bucks

I have a 4 night stay Fri-Tuesday at a Marriott next month. Can I use both a Free Weekend night Certificate and $100 Bonus Bucks on my stay.
Thanks

Not if it's only one reservation...

Thanks GlenntheBaker, I have also done this before, but we really shouldn't have to. I don't have access to a fax machine anymore, so it really is a pain as I have to pass bills to Mr HP and it all starts to get very complicated.

When can we have e-billing for places other than the US?? Then it would just be a simple e-mail to send.
