Recommendations, please: recent stays in Cincinnati area

The most positive report I can find was for the West Chester, OH property, but that was from summer 2004. Is there anything more recent?

Can anyone provide a recommendation for multiple rooms in a Cincy-area property? I'm interested in any brand; just so long as it provides good customer service. Price no object.

I stayed at the Marriott Cincinnati Northeast in Mason this week. It was a decent property and the service was great.

We stayed at the Courtyard Blue Ash (CVGBA) in August 2004 and had no problems. It's a pretty typical Courtyard near a business park.

I recently did two stays at the Marriott Rivercenter in Covington, just across the river from downtown Cincinnati. I thought that the rooms were fine. One night I and some colleagues had dinner in the hotel restaurant and found the food fine, perhaps a tad pricey. The other time I had room service dinner which was fine and I thought well priced. It looks like there are other hotel restaurants in easy walking distance from the Marriott. It's only a 5-10 minute $10 cab ride into downtown Cinicannati. The biggest negative to me is that you have to take an elevator to the main floor and then another one to your room - obviously, if this is my biggest complaint, overall it's a good option.

Tripadvisor.com has been a nice resource for me, but its no FT! In Cincy, the best two options are on the 'other' of the river, where you are actually in Kentucky. But since the Airport is also there, no worries. The CY Covington and River Center MAR are the best bets, nothing too special but the best choices if your destination is DT Cincy. There are no MAR choices that are on the OH side of the river that are also close to the city center.

My wife stayed at Rivercenter last November and said she thought it was "above average" for full-serve Marriotts. She was very pleased with the location and the proximity to the airport. My last stay was at the Mason location a few years ago, which I found to be a very standard full-serve Marriott. (which is a good thing!) I've also used the Blue Ash CY a few times. A little out of the way, but good. Mason has a number of restaurants close by....CY at Blue Ash is right by a lively and popular brewpub with pretty good food as I recall. (Yuppie central!)

Hope this helps!

Both the Rivercenter Marriott and the Covington Courtyard are good properties. I've stayed at the CY once and the Rivercenter 3-4 times. The Rivercenter is a really nice property, but it is one of those open-layout hotels, with all the rooms around the periphery of an open center, so if there are some rowdy parties during your stay, you will hear them.

Otherwise, you are looking at properties 15-25 miles north of downtown. I do believe either the Mason or the West Chester property had a mold problem several years ago.

We're driving with my disabled mother (I know -- no air miles -- horrors!), so we decided to search in areas of town that I was already familiar with. Ms. JPT decreed that there must be free breakfast for all of us and a fireplace (and I was hoping for a f/s Marriott -- sulk), so it looks like we'll be staying at one of the two CVG-area Residence Inns that actually have 2 BR suites.

My thanks to all who responded. :) ^
