Discount code "c7j" (Continental Airlines)
 

Anyone with experience with using this code? It gives a good rate at LAX Renaissance Montura.

A couple of Hotels in Europe came up with unbelievable cheap rates. ALONG with CO ID needed and checked. I decided I didnt want to get there and run into Not having a place to stay in the end. I guess I could have asked the crew on the flight if they are staying there themselves and then hope one will say Im with them, but then the room would be under my name and w/o their name on the res. Id try to find a different code.

That's probably an airline employee rate for FAs...

When we went to Fiji on the 0.00 fare, Air Pacific told us that they had a rate at the Ren at LAX. My friend called about it & there were 2 rates, there was the Air Pacific employee rate & the Air Pacific Referral rate (79 or 89 I think) - he booked the Air Pacific referral rate & had no problems checking in.

I tried it for checking-in on Sept 9th for 2 nights & Sept 16th for 2 nights at the same hotel, it was only US$5.00 less per night than the AAA rate. It also said ID required for the C7J promo code. BTW, the rate code for this is CTNA.

Unless you're an employee if there's only a $5 dif, go for the AAA rate. Why chance not having a room if you can't cough up the id (and i'm guessing they do check id's of airline employees to make sure they're legit).

I've got a room booked in New Orleans at the Renaissance Arts Hotel using C7J code at a rate of $95/nt. Rack rate is $219. I think I'm going to go for it as it makes no mention of ID required in the rate rules, it just says "CONTINENTAL AIRLINES". If questioned, I can just say I thought it was a rate for Continental frequent flyers. I'll just whip out my ancient and virtually unused OnePass card.

I noticed in the discount codes thread, it describes it as "C7J Continental Air specials" - no mention of employee specific. I have stayed at other hotels using SW8 - the Southwest code and have never had a question about being an airline employee, so I'm hoping that it's the same for this one.

What's unethical? If there's lying involved. Yes, the action is unethical, but if the promotional code is open and doesn't say anything in the rate about who exactly can use it, IMO, using this code is not unethical.

Personal opinions aside everyone's personal ethics will dictate what they believe is wrong and what isn't......personally I find it interesting how folks will justify their actions when they feel they are across the line even if it's only slightly

On a side note I completely agree with your last two posts but again ethics will vary from person to person depending on their individual values (hopefully no one is taking offense to my point of view)

Hotels and airlines do everything they can to make you pay more than you need to.

I agree with you in terms of the ignorance-is-power point that you make. My moral values are aligned with the opportunist school :D.

There is a difference between being an opportunist and going against one's values and then justifying it to make one feel better about it, again I'm not a moralistic prude but I typically don't need to justify my actions to myself either
