Purchasing Marriott Points
 

I have 129,600 points and I need 165,000. This means that I need another 35,000 points. The cost of this would be $350 (right?). This works out to be less than purchasing the remainder of the nights at my hotel during my stay.
Will they allow me to purchase that many points?
Will they comp me 400 points or will I have to buy another 1000 points?
Is this transaction instant?
Are there any potential problems?

You are able to purchase up to ten percent of the points needed to redeem an award. Purchases must be made in 1,000 point increments. You need to get a purchase form in order to buy points. I have not done this before, but I assume it will take some time to get the form and get the order processed.

Based on the size of your desired reward, you would not be able to buy that many points.

You can purchase the 10% instantly on the phone with a customer service rep. Though you are still short points towards your goal.
