JW Marriott Miami - Comments?

Thinking of staying at JW Marriott Miami on an award stay over Memorial Day (S. Beach and Eden Roc only available with expensive Stay Anytime Award).

Any comments from recent stays? My search was unsuccessful.

Thanks.

Memorial day weekend is a very busy time in Miami beach, I am not sure if you are aware but there usually is a Hip Hop music convention and it can be very hectic, just wanted to make you aware, I go to Miami beach about 6 times a year, and would never go at this time, because of the chaos.

Is stayed at that hotel last spring. Its very much a business hotel rather than a leisure hotel from what I remember. Did get an upgrade to a HUGE suite. Biggest upgrade I ever got from Marriott actually.

Anyway, its a bit of a drive to South Beach if thats your destination, but certainly no complaints about the hotel or staff when I was there.

Yikes - Thank you for the advice. Think I'll go to Palm Springs instead....

Glad to have been some help, I have had several friends go to Miami during this time and they have stated will never go back at that time again, totally ruins the whole south beach experience.

Possible the nicest Marriott in the Miami area with an executive lounge that really puts others to shame.

The bathrooms have fold down LCD tvs and it is really one of the nicest Marriott I have ever stayed in.

Its only competition is the MO Miami and for my money I would choose the J.W.

However, it is very much a business hotel and I remember it being a bit of a drive to South Beach.

Go with JW Property

As you can surmise, the JW property is a business hotel on Brickell Avenue, with not much in the way of entertainment around it. My opinion is that the Eden Roc is a tired old lady, although just up the street from South Beach, with plenty of action. Have kids?...go Eden Roc, none, stay at the JW property. Nice....clean...quiet...new.
I have stayed at the JW 10 or 12 times in the past two years. Eden Roc, only once 3 or 4 years ago and do not plan to return. You are missing many nice properties in Miami that you have not mentioned. Any particular reason?

South beach marriott would be my choice, its at the end of Ocean drive and its quiet, but 10 minute walk to the action, that would be my choice, eden rock, courtyard all kind of out of the way.
