FYI - changing mega bonus promotion
I just called the platinum desk and asked to have my offer changed from the 15 nights, 20K points to the 20 nights, 30K points. The CSR said that it was not possible to change the promotion as I'd already been enrolled, but that I should call after the promotion ends (post June 1). At that time, they'll look at my history, and if I've exceeded the 20 nights, they would "work something out, especially sind I was Platinum."
Nice to know they're open to some sort of change as I can definitely push to make the 20 nights, or ease off and stay around 16 nights.

I believe that Platinums could pick whichever one they wanted. Your post indicates that it would have had to be done before we started.
OK -- I'm cool with that. I got the max anyhow, so I never made a peep.
Good luck.

Not sure why the CSR acted like you were getting some sort of special favor. For this and last MegaBonus promotion it has been an unwritten rule that Plats can change their bonus, though you have stick with your original offer for the course of the promo. Any point adjustments are then done manually at the conclusion of the promo. Just have to remember to call them back on June 1st and request the extra points.

pointsofinterest's post makes a good deal of sense. I had thought the same as BigLar - that I could change my promo at any point. As far as why she acted as she did, I can't really say. Pointsofinterest's experience, though, does answer the question of what "work something out" means.

As a Gold, I was allowed to change mine, too. It was noted in my record, and I was told the original bonus would post at the end of the promo. I was asked to call after June 1, to get the additional points, if I qualified. If not, I would get the original bonus, so I have nothing to lose.

hmmmmm.... I got the 30k points. I don't remember a choice when signing up for this promotion. Was there a choice? I'm Gold.

I initially was targeted for a lower promotion but called to switch as well. The CSR told me that Platinums get a one-time switch and advised I call back after the promotion has finished. At that time, the CSR will look at my night stays and pick the best promotion for me. She made it seem like this was a standard perk that all Platinums receive. I am not sure if other elites get to change as well. Right now, I am slated to make the 15 nights, but I’m hoping I can do 20 nights for the 10k extra.

Bonus changed
My 20th and 21st nights just posted on my account, so I called the Platinum line. They added an extra 10,000 bonus points while I was on the phone with them. Points now show up in my account.

Same here...I was targeted with the 15 nights / 20,000 as a Gold. Just completed 21st night. Phoned the Gold desk, explained the situation and they added the extra 10,000 points immediately.
