Concierge Floor

I am a Marriott Platinum Premier. I get upgraded to a suite suite about 35-40% of the time. But this week in SF at the SF Marriott is the first time I have been on the same floor as the Concierge Lounge in over a year.

Woohoo!

I have always wondered that... I have been PLT for the last 6 years and though I almost always get access without asking, it is very rare I am on the same floor as the actual lounge. Who actually gets those rooms?

Platinum members have access to the Concierge Room whether or not they are on the same floor. I have been assigned Concierge level room several times and several times not on the same floor. It does not matter to me as long as I have access.

The floor can make a big difference, especially hotels like the NY Marquis, where they tell you to leave your room an hour early for dinner and play reservations due to elevators taking forever.

I definately like being on the same floor for convenience.

Very rarely I am not on the same floor as the c-lounge.

This is a great question. I have been staying at the Marriott in NY Financial District for the last 9 months (about 140 days) and only once did I see a room on 38. Club room are from 33-38 but it was nice to get 38.

I too stay frequently at the Marriott WFC usually on floor 33+, but never the top floor with the lounge. Agree that the access is all that is really 'needed', but it would be nice to know who gets those rooms, or how it is determined. Are there that many folks above PLT staying in these hotels at the same time as me?

I'm a Gold and I'm almost always on the c-level, but I tend to stay in Marriotts where the lounge is rarely open. Last time I was at a Marriott where the lounge was actually open was Marriott New Orleans...

No, there are that many people actually reserving and paying for Concierge Level room.

Calling ahead helps

This is one of those situations where calling ahead on the day of arrival can increase your chances of getting the c-level room.

"I know I'll have access either way, but it would be great if you could set aside a room actually on the Concierge Level when I arrive later tonight..."

It's worked for me...

Also found that putting something like "Req Floor 38" in the comments section when making online reservations helps too.
