Bonus Bucks
I am new to this forum, and find it very informative!
Can someone humor me and explain where all these people get their Bonus Bucks? I saw you can buy them on ebay for about 25% of their value. But where do people get these to sell???? Thanks |
Hi bag0212, and welcome to FlyerTalk
Too bad the "search" function isn't working, 'cause this question gets asked and answered regularly. But since it isn't, here goes: 1. Some are given with hotel promotions. For instance, last autumn Marriott had a special offer where if you stayed over a weekend night at the particular rate (which wasn't that high) and paid with a VISA credit card, you got a $100 Bonus Buck certificate. One long weekend could net you three of them, since Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings were all considered "weekend" 2. Some are given with related purchases. For instance, a few years ago Marriott had a promotion where they gave you a $25 Bonus Buck with the purchase of every $50 Marriott Gift Card. Recently, certain purchases/redemptions from the Marriott Rewards merchandise offers came with a $50 Bonus Buck. 3. Last month there was an offer where if you test drove a Buick, you would get a $100 Bonus Buck. 4. Many IT gadgets (HP printers, etc.) carry a rebate of three to five $100 Bonus Bucks. I'm sure there are more. |
But what about the couple of individuals that over the last several months that I have been looking, have sold well over $100,000 worth of Bonus Bucks each? That's a lot of Buick test drives and HP printers!!! Just seems strange to me.

And ChazDawg is right - they're not supposed to be sold. |
