Status Attached at time of reservation or check-in?
 
If I make a reservation while I am gold status and then subsequently make platinum status, does anyone know if I need to do anything to ensure the status for the existing reservation is accurate? I know some systems attach status at the time the reservation is made, others do not and pull status at the time of check-in. I'm not sure how Marriott does it, but I'd be interested to find out if anyone does know.

You don't need to do anything. Marriott's system recognizes your new status when you check in.
