YEG (Edmonton, Alberta) get a CY!

This makes this occasional mattress runner very happy as I no longer have to drive to YYC to make that last night to requalify for MR elite anymore. I'd heard about this rumour for a while, but the rebranding was only made last week (27th July). The CY used to be a property called the Thorton Court and is located right downtown within a few blocks of local sights and sits at the top of a scenic river valley. Here's the website for the former brand:

Not sure when it'll make its way on to the Marriott website as I checked and nothing there yet. But probably won't be long in coming.

Anyway, thought the info about my fave hotel brand coming to my little corner of the world worth sharing. :)

Oops! My bad. :o

Must've specific Marriott only when I searched on the web this a.m. Don't ridicule me just because I had a hard time getting it up.

I just completed a stay at this hotel - they're in the midst of completing renovations to the hotel so the lobby and the rooms still smell of fresh paint!

Interior decor of the room looks like an upscale version of a new Marriott. I got a north facing room this time, but since it sits on the river bank, the south views are probably a lot better.

Self park out front in an open air lot, or else use valet parking for $14 per day. Not bad for heated parking.

Overall, a good choice for a hotel - i'll stay there again, especially once the renovations are complete!
