Marriott Ranch Bed & Breakfast???
I stumbled across this property in Hume, VA (http://marriott.com/property/propert...rshaCode=WASMR) on the Marriott website. It sounds like a real B&B with only 10 rooms on a big ranch with horseback riding, picnic areas, etc. I can't seem to book a room no matter what dates I use, which either means those 10 rooms are booked WAY in advance or you just can't book it online.
Does anyone have any experience with this property? What's it like? Do you get Marriott Rewards points and perks when staying there? Can you check room availability online or do you have to call them directly? |

Calling direct is the only way. |
Thanks, Lefty. This is the first time I've found a property with a MARSHA code that you can't book that way!
In any event, I called them today; the woman on the phone sounded very pleasant. They have a variety of room types available from standard "one room rooms" (as she jokingly called them) to an entire 3 BR, 2 BA house. The place is very often booked by large groups, and individual travelers ("transients", in their lingo!) can only make reservations 30 days in advance. The kicker for me, though, was that they do not participate in Marriott Rewards. No points earning or redemption, and no elite benefits. As wonderful as the place sounds, I'll take my business elsewhere (The Inn at Little Washington has similar rates, for example) if I'm not going to earn points or nights. |
Based upon the above comments. And the fact that there is no indication as to which reward category this property is included in, it would seem that this is a non-starter for a reward stay.

I understood that this property is located on a ranch that was actually owned by the Marriott family. What a shame they aren't active in the MR program. It looks like a fun and interesting property. Unfortunately, I can't bring myself to stay at a Marriott branded property where I cannot burn or earn!

Do anyone have any experience from this Marriott Ranch? https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...and-breakfast/ http://www.marriottranch.com Besides not earning points and not being able to book reward nights, this place looks great as in greeeeeaat. Anyone? |
The timing of the reopening thread is amazing, Mr. Marriott just bogged about how the Fairfield Inn chain was named after this ranch/farm.
http://www.blogs.marriott.com/default.asp?item=721254 Don't know how a beautiful farm gets associated with a chain like the FI, but there you go... BTW, I'm sure its just me, but I sort of get turned off reading about him boasting about his incredible wealth and family properties available to him now and while growing up yet I can't get a crappy FI without burning twice the points I used to. |
I go out there to ride their horses occasionally, I've never stayed on the property though. Talked about some of their evening and overnight rides and staying at the b&b but never did it.
