Have business in Huntington Beach area thursday and friday July 8-9 and need advise what Marriott to stay at that is nice. also will be sticking around for Sat and Sunday night for pleasure as my wife will be flying in for the weekend. Thinking about the Palm Desert area but don't know what Marriott to use. And should I use points or pay the money as I think there is a point saver award going on for that time period. don;t know much about LA area.

LA is Big!!
The Marriott Palm Desert is a beautiful property, especially out by the swimming pool on the weekends. However, it is about a 2 hour drive from Los Angeles, and I wouldn't even try it during Friday rush hour, when it might be 3+.

Also getting back on Sunday could take over 3 hours. As for a Marriott near Huntington Beach, you should try the Marriott in Newport Beach. Nice location, great restaurants nearby. |
The Renaissance Long Beach is pretty close to HB. Great location with loads of activities within walking distance.

Where is your business location in Huntington Beach? It's a very spread out city. So you might be near Newport Beach or Long Beach or Costa Mesa or Fountain Valley.
I like the Marriott Suites in Costa Mesa. There are lots of nearby restaurants, and it's a convenient, central location for access to Newport Beach, Disneyland, Irvine, and Huntington Beach. If you stay there, ask for a room overlooking the man-made lake. |
