"NPR" e-codes?
 

I've seen the code "NPR" before, so I tried it and it requires a certificate for check in for the dates I want to use it... what certificate does it require? Can someone help me out? :)

NPR code in general uncovers various rate programs, not just one.

The two programs that it usually uncovers and that one could definitely use -- assuming they are members -- are AAA rates and Entertainment discount rates. Although, you should have a card to show that you are a member of either one, the front desk rarely asks for the former, and not that much more freuquently for the latter.

With respect to any other rate plans, it is difficult to assess without your cutting and pasting the rate rules, but generally you probably are not eligible to take advantage of this. You may be talking about various airline AA discount certs. I don't know how one gets them, but if you don't have one, you are not eligible.

Best to post the rate rules so we know what you are talking about and so better inform you.

Here is what the confirmation actually says. Any idea what certificate they would refer to? What happens if I don't end up showing them anything? Can they cancel my reservation? Thanks!

You cannot book these rates without the appropriate certificate. One example of the certificate required are those issued by Amtrak as part of their Guest Rewards program. There are several other examples. Here is a link from the Marriott web page:

I've seen these as well....no firm idea; possibly and internal incentive rate. Perhaps Chris can help out.

The worst that can happen is that you'll pay the standard room rate. These incentive rates, when I've seen them, aren't much better than the AAA, Ent. or Encore rates, if better at all. Personally, I'd book a rate which I understand and know applies to me. That NPR code is a catch-all.

I've had similar experience but have noted more interest in the Entertainment cards of late. The last Residence Inn we stayed at even photocopied the card and attached it to our record. Still, it was worth the 15 bucks (about 17%) off the best e-break rate they had.

I entered NPR code on line when making a resv. at a Renaissance in So. Fl....it gave a AAA rate, which I am, so I took it...a good deal as it was $99 a night plus breakfast for two plus two adult beverages for two...A DEAL! Even tho' I am Plat and get cons. lounge privledges, I'll take it! ^

Your reservation will be honored but at the rate currently selling at check-in (if you are unable to produce the required documents for the incentive award)
