Get airline tix with someone else's points?

Can someone give you an airline ticket from their Marriott points or even move points to your frequent flier account?

Thanks in advance.

Part one: Yes. Your friend can do a points-to-miles exchange to his/her FF account, and then use the miles to redeem an award ticket with your name on it. (In all of the major programs, anyway...)

Part two: Varies by airline. I know AA and BA tend to play hardball with name-checking on partner transfers. I know DL and NW have let me top-off my wife's account using conversions from my Diner's points. (I don't have Marriott-specific experience, but I think it's the airline that would take issue with different names, not Marriott, so I would think that the a program's policies would be similar across partners.)

Marriot Pts

I'll do a ticket for you/your friend for Marriot Miles.
