China BMW owner can match Gold status with lounge access

Have heard that all China BMW owners can match with Gold status included lounge access in China. Is there anyone here can confirmed?

Post 8/18/18 Gold status does not get executive lounge access or free breakfast. Only Plats, Plat Premier & Plat Ambassador.

Cheers.

In China, some hotels offer free breakfast to gold members. I'm not sure if the print-out (offer) was from pre or post-merger. It is just confusing.

At most of the hotels, the executive lounges are still not crowded.

Unless it is the old SPG Gold. Now Gold is not worth a whole lot. Better state the age/era of the gold...

This promotion gives new Gold status *plus* lounge access within mainland CN. And yes, it's been confirmed.

Is that like the Chinese Flyetalk where all those pre-merger leaks were coming from?

Seems like this is an another classic example of hidden program in program from Marriot. Now i would like to urge all SPG Lifetime Gold start to boycott the new Marriot Rewards !!!

even old SPG did not get lounge access (unless you are talking about the stub period where SPG golds were "temporarily" given Marriott Gold)

Not sure why you would care as it doesn't hurt you. You wouldn't have had lounge access anyway and didn't have it as gold before. If someone has a complaint, it should be plats who have slightly more crowded lounges in China.

BMW and Marriott reach some sort of promotional agreement ... so what? Who knows how long it will last?

In China, people pay double or so high price for the high priced foreign vehicles. If someone can afford $100,000 BMW, what the free breakfast will do for him/her? People there do not even know what Cointreau is.

If foreign travelers want to travel to China and enjoy the lounge etc, then enjoy it. Maybe the same in Vietnam...
