Possible to transfer an existing award reservation to a spouse?
Say I made a hotel award booking and the hotel category has increased since the booking was made. Would it be possible to completely transfer the existing booking to my spouse? I know that's it's possible to share points with a spouse (>50k), but this is a bit different since I don't want to re-book the award.
I would want (1) their status benefits to apply, (2) them to receive their elite nights credits and (3) the award not to reprice.

You should be able to call and add just their name to the reservation. I have had this happen a couple of times. Husband is platinum, but occasionally work issues come up and cannot stay with me. Even on award stays, with my name on reservation, I have been able to check in and get platinum benefits (even when I tell them that he is not coming). Not sure about elite night credits (never asked him), but everything else was fine.
