I've been seeing the 2 free bottled waters at more and more Marriotts. Maybe they are planning on keeping the bottled waters from SPG. Now having stayed at many SPG hotels, I've noticed that at some locations, non SPG preffered level rooms only have 1 bottle of water and the SPG floors have two.

Actually, the chart in post 5 was for existing Marriott Rewards lifetime categories transferring to new lifetime categories. SPG lifetime gold = lifetime gold in new the program.

6x 1000ml water 😂
and they always restock them during housekeeping and turndown.
I got feeling that would be because Bangkok tap water is not safe to drink?

A couple years ago I started using the tap water to brush my teeth and I am not dead yet. Those who have never stayed in a BKK Marriott would not know that there are at least two free bottles of water next to every sink, in addition to water next to the bed, in the living area and near the fridge.
OP, I only bring this up so you know for the future... Marriott and SPG sent multiple emails about the change which was coming and the parameters of the change. Yes, they send too many emails about irrelevant things, but these were labeled in a way that indicated their importance. You might want to glance at the headings a little more carefully before ignoring emails from Marriott.
