rollover bonus nights
OK not sure how this makes any sense (or maybe I'm just not understanding how rollover nights work). I legitimately made "gold" by staying 53 nights in 2017. So I hit the gold milestone of 50 nights, giving me a whopping 3 rollover nights to count towards 2018 status. A buddy of mine missed gold by 2 nights (he was at 48). He obviously hit Silver, and then had 38 rollover nights. Because he was so close to Gold, they went ahead and gifted it to him. So now...we're both sitting on Gold status for 2018. However he now has 38 rollover nights to count towards 2018, whereas I have 3.
How the heck does this make any sense Marriott? It's almost like I want to stop at 48 or 49 nights next year (it's very likely Marriott would 'gift' me Gold) so that the following year I'll have WAY more rollover nights (making it MUCH easier to reach status the next year). |

But marriott gave it as a courtesy - you can never be sure that they would do that for everyone and every year.
