Gold at Courtyard in Sedona, AZ

Is gold status worth anything at the Sedona Courtyard? Deciding between this and the Hilton for family of 5. Thanks

G status isn't worth literally anything beyond bonus points at any non-asian CY

Thank you, too bad. I'd prefer to stay at Marriott family but with the nicer pool at Hilton it's hard to justify.

And likely trying to stuff 5 into a CY “shoebox” would be rather difficult

The Courtyard is also on the edge of town, which could good or bad depending on your perspective.

Hilton is about six miles outside of Sedona in the town of Oak Creek.

The hotel does not allow two adults and three children to stay in a regular room. There are some larger rooms that can accommodate three kids. Those rooms are usually only available for cash and not with points or points and cash upgrade. Even though the OP has not indicated that this is a points redemption, just thought I'd throw it out there. Actually, for all we know the OP may be planning on getting two rooms.

I ended up booking the Hilton with cash where I also have gold. Our kids are small enough that we can fit in a double queen, but not for much longer! One is an infant. Thank you for the replies.

As to the Sedona CY. It's newly built pristine property and in a very good location if one takes into account Sedona's growing traffic congestion issues ( which are intense in specific seasons or events ).

The CY is located in west Sedona literally at the edge of town across the road from the Diamond timeshare resort & astride the high school. It's a good location in terms of easy access & less traffic. We've not stayed at this CY as we now live in Sedona ( actually 6 miles south in Village of Oak Creek ). But we did stop in one day to take a look at the property and it looks very nice.

There are 2 Hiltons in Sedona. The Hampton Inn is located @ 1.5 mi from the CY in the heart of West Sedona. We've stayed at this Hampton ( last time 2015 befre we move to AZ) & it's clean & comparable to a Marriott FFI product. A few restaurants in "possible" walking distance but one must safely cross at intersections due to traffic. So in this sense one is likely to need a car at either CY or HI. The other Hilton property is the Bell Rock resort located where we live in Oak Creek. Cheapest rooms there are $300.

When are you visiting Sedona? How old are the kids & do you intend to hike or take in regional sites? Either Sedona property has you 5-10 minutes from trails in uptown Sedona. Flagstaff is @ 45 miles north of Sedona & a good destination by itself ( & a bit cooler in summer as it's altitude is 3500 ft higher ). Grand Canyon would be 90 miles north of Flagstaff. Slippery Rock state park is a natural red rock swim park that fills up fast in summer & an alternative idea if you visit when temps are higher.

Lots of things to do here and never enough time, even when you live here
Enjoy your visit.

Thank you. We ended up staying at the Bell Rock Hilton and it was worth the additional cost compared to CY to have a larger suite. There are a few close restaurants that they will drive you to on a golf cart, but having a car was a necessity. Our kids are little so we did some light hiking and a visited a few of the sites. We need to plan more time in the future, it was an enjoyable area (even if it did snow briefly for one day)
