Confusing offer
I have my Sunday night only date in.
I see a "Packages and Deals" offer for a Weekend, lower than any other price
I click on it, it seems fine...I read the fine print...
It says "Friday or Saturday night stay required".
Can I book this for just a Sunday night?

Unless Fri or Sat suddenly morphs into Sunday, probably not.
Cheers.

Try it. I doubt the system will offer the rate since you are not within the rules. Now if you book it for Saturday to Monday, then it MIGHT fly, but if you no-show on Saturday, all bets are off your reservation will be intact. Another approach would be to call the property and ask if the deal could be extended for your desired date. If they are forecasting exceptionally low occupancy they may be willing to oblige.

Well, I went ahead and completed the booking - took just fine. If I hadn't clicked on "details" I never would have seen the Friday/Saturday thing so I'm going with that - it knew my date, it gave me the price. It's certainly not a "mistake" fare, but it's a little lower than any other fare (even AAA, AARP) for that date.

Hotels list the conditions of promotional rates, but they will offer them outside of the typical restrictions if demand is low enough to warrant offering that rate. I have seen this with weekend AAA rates offered on non-weekend days during slow periods.

Yes, if they didn't load the rate properly then it should be fair game (I wasn't aware the terms were only in the 'fine print'). They may try to push back, but I would hope that would be before arriving so you have time to check out alternatives. Bottom line is they offered the rate and you accepted so a good property will allow it to happen but correct their error. Also, be sure to keep a copy of your confirmation email and DO NOT rely upon the website. Should the property decide to change the text associated with your specific rate code (they do not store the full text with each rez) the web will reflect the new text.

Keeping the confirmation is for your protection. Properties have been known to make changes before you arrive and if you count on the web to have the correct data, you may be surprised. Some have reported noticing a change and the email was the only way to show what it was at time of booking. They should honor the rate at time of booking, but a new FDC may not have permission to override the system. It's your call, of course.

Just a reminder (that generally will be ignored, like all those before it)...a post will get more replies and better information if the hotel is named and relevant details like rate and date of stay are included.
