Overnight folio delivery!

Didn't see a thread for this...imagine my surprise when I woke up and saw a folio from last night's Marriott stay in my inbox. A ^ if they are implementing this change chain-wide. Any other data points?

There is a thread here somewhere on this. It's been happening for a couple of weeks now. It's certainly a nice follow on to what Starwood had been doing.

Of course last night is the first one where I didn't get it!

Stayed in three different Courtyards the last three nights. Got the bill emailed before I checked out each time.

All of my stays (since 1/13) I've been getting an emailed bill during the night and another one after check out.

It was launched on December 6th but it seems to have taken awhile for it to be implemented:

You asked for it. We did it. By this Wednesday, December 6, you can enjoy paperless billing at hotels across the U.S. and Canada. When you wake up the last day of your stay, eFolio will be waiting in your inbox.

It’s one way to make your travel just a little more fun. Now you can spend less time organizing and more time exploring.

We thought you’d be interested in these FAQs:

When will eFolio launch?
Beginning December 6, 2017, you’ll receive hotel bills via email. No more keeping track of paper folios delivered under your door or handed to you at checkout.

Which hotels will provide eFolio?
Most Marriott® and Ritz-Carlton® hotels in the U.S. and Canada are transitioning to the new service.

Why the switch to paperless receipts?
Members requested it, so we’ve expanded and updated our eFolio service to include all members. We’re also glad to give Starwood Preferred Guest® members the same digital service they’ve enjoyed from SPG.

What should I expect?
You will receive a preliminary eFolio at the email address listed on your reservation the last morning of your stay. Then you’ll get a final, updated version soon after you check out. As always, keeping your personal information secure is our priority. For more details, visit marriott.com/privacy.

What if I prefer the paper version?
We’d be happy to supply a paper folio. Just tell the clerk at check-in that you want to opt out of eFolio for that stay and receive a paper folio instead.

I may need an eFolio after my stay. How can I get it?
Simply call the hotel and we’ll email it to you. By year’s end, you’ll also be able to view your eFolios in your online account.

I have a new email address. How do I update it?
For upcoming reservations, change it via your reservation confirmation email or at the front desk when you check in. To change your email address for future stays, visit your online account.

My inbox has been littered with multiple copies of each folio since this began. Not sure what triggers the sending of the folio, but it seems to happen multiple times over the 12 hours or so after check out.

I tend to get one overnight of the last night of my stay, and then I get a second one after my check-out has been confirmed. I would imagine this is so that they can settle up any additional charges that I might have incurred during the morning of checking out (such as breakfast, etc.) I've once caught a charge that did not belong on my bill from the overnight email, and called down to the FD to correct it when I saw it. The erroneous charge was removed, and the second copy of the bill I received via email was correct.

I was 0/3 in December.

Despite staying at the same Marriott for the last 3 weeks, I have only received one overnight email the first week. It's the email from [email protected] right? Wondering if this requires the agent to do something or if checking out on the app triggers it, or it's just glitchy.

JBord Feb 11, 2018 8:38 pm

My last stay was actually 12/30 at the Panama Marriott, and I got it. Didn't really think anything of it until I saw this thread. Perhaps it's being implemented by property, i.e. slowly...

Correct.

If you don’t want to get the efolio , check out via the app. Seems to totally ignore the request to get efolio
