Guaranteed Lounge Access/ Breakfast

I usually travel for work during the week, but this time I'm on a trip through the Labor Day weekend. I enjoy having access to the concierge lounge when I stay at properties that have it, but apparently the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs plans on closing it this weekend (through Tuesday morning). In looking at the elite benefits guarantee page (http://www.marriott.com/marriott-rew...s/guarantee.mi) it says that "you’ll have a choice of continental breakfast in the restaurant or 750 points." Unfortunately for me I have to be somewhere each morning by 6am, so the breakfast in the restaurant isn't an option so they offered me 750 points. My main question is should it be 750 points for the weekend? Or should it be 750 points per day that I don't have access to the lounge? I don't want to come off as pushy, but I couldn't really find the "terms and conditions" for full details and exclusions to find that answer.

I would interpret it to be a choice each day that the lounge is closed. So if you are there 3 days, on each of the 3 days you get a choice of breakfast or points.

It's 750 points per day that the lounge is closed.

Thanks for the responses. I assumed it was 750/day so I'll validate with the front desk.

Would the lounge be open by 6am? They are providing breakfast. I have never considered benefits missed of I have to leave so early. I am not of the mind that the hotel is missing something here.

You have a choice of either the breakfast or the points. The poster will not be eating breakfast in the restaurant, so he/she is entitled to the points. There is no bed-check police determining if he is leaving the hotel prior to six.

Fair enough and I didn't understand the policy. I thought it was when a hotel closed the lounge and didn't offer an alternative. My bad on that and I missed out on a bunch of points... 750 at a time.

Apologies to the OP.

Hotels should have given you the points, regardless whether you asked or were offered. Find your FS hotel weekend stays were the lounge was closed, call Marriott and ask for the points to be credited. Those are your points. You are entitled to them. I've had to call to get Welcome Amenity points posted and it's easy. Unfortunately, the phone agents are used to posting them when the hotel hasn't.

And then, be fully prepared to have to go back to Marriott Rewards to actually get the 750/nt. credit posted to your account. IME, the hotels that properly credit this are in the minority, as opposed to the Platinum Arrival Gift where the majority, but not 100%, get it right.

The faint bit of good news is that I've never gotten an argument or challenge from MR when requesting the missing breakfast points earnings.
