Fall 2017 MegaBonus Terms and Conditions

*A 'stay' is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity. [Although the T&Cs don't say it clearly, a stay can be as short as one night.]

• Registration is required.
• Marriott Rewards members who register for this promotion by November 30, 2017 will earn one (1) free night award at a category 1-5 hotel (value of standard free night award ranges from 7,500 points for Category 1 hotels to 25,000 points for Category 5 hotels) after two paid stays* made between September 12, 2017 and January 15, 2018, at participating Marriott® properties.
• If a member completes two qualifying stays during the promotional period, an additional offer may be unlocked and become available in the members account within 2-3 days after the second qualifying stay.
• The member may not receive additional notification except through their online member account and must register for the additional offer within two (2) weeks from the date the additional offer becomes available.
• Maximum one (1) free night award earned with this promotion per member to be redeemed for a future stay at participating Marriott Rewards category 1-5 properties.
• Free night award will expire six (6) months after the date of issuance.
• An earned free night award is good for one (1) single or double occupancy standard room only and includes the cost of the hotel room and applicable room taxes only.
• An earned free night award will be added to the member’s account within 3-5 business days after the second qualifying stay.
• The awarded free night certificate is not transferable and may not be given as a gift.
• Nights spent while redeeming an award are not eligible for credit and Marriott Vacation Club® owner-occupied weeks are not eligible for credit.
• Stays at ExecuStay and Marriott Executive Apartments are not eligible for credit toward this promotion.
• Only one room per hotel is counted toward a member’s nights or stay.
• Members electing to earn miles are not eligible for this promotion.
• For a list of current Marriott Rewards participating brands, visit https://www.marriott.com/marriott-re...earn/hotels.mi.
• Stays at our exclusive luxury hotel partner, The Ritz-Carlton®, will count toward achievement.
• Rooms booked through most third party online retailers and select travel agency bookings are ineligible to earn for this promotion.
• All Marriott Rewards program terms and conditions apply.

+1.

I was looking a somewhere I could actually spend one of these awards (Flagstaff, AZ), but all the (run-of-the-mill) MR properties in that location - Residence Inn, Courtyard and Springhill Suites - are Cat 6 or higher.

Ditto London, nothing at all to spend it on in the city : have to go out as far as the cheapo hotels in Bexleyheath or Waltham to get anything as low as Cat 5.

Poor.

Try Phoenix - there are 17 Cat 5s there, plus another 30 below Cat 5

Of course. I'm sure there are plenty more cats 5s at many other 'places most people don't want to go to to spend their award' too.

All registered and done...

Thankfully, there are some quite nice Marriott properties in the UK which fall into Cat 5, so a weekend away will be a nice treat!

I already have a couple of single night stays booked, so should get this quite quickly, and will look forward to seeing what the extra bit is that gets unlocked!

Report back

Offer shows up one day after the enrollment, so it may take a while before it appears.

I am a Marriott newbie, with a Ritz Carlton account. I tried to register, but couldn't get through. Can't a RC member take advantage of this promotion?

I'm a SPG person that's new to marriott after the merger.

This promo says: stay 2x, get 1 night free.

SPG uses the words 'Nights' and 'Stays'.

A Night is literally what it sounds like...how many nights you sleep at a hotel.

A Stay can be one or more nights. For example, a 1 day reservation, or a 1 week reservation are considered a stay.

This marriott language confuses me. It says a stay is consecutive nights spent at a hotel. That sounds like a 2+ night SPG 'stay'.

My question is, do you get the free night after you stay at a marriott for 2 consecutive nights, or do you have to have two, two-night reservations for a total of 4 nights?

Stay twice and get a free night at SPG would mean complete two separate reservations and get a free night.

It sounds like this one might mean, stay once for two nights and get a free night.

You need two stays.

You could get the free night with a one-night stay, followed by a one-night stay at a different property.

Any chance that booking through a CLC (corporate lodging card) would qualify as a stay? thanks

Thanks, so a stay has the same meaning as it does at SPG.

Not familiar with SPG, but it is the same as Hilton.

I'm assuming that goes through a third-party website and not Marriott.com, correct? If that's right, then no it will not count - bookings through third-party websites are not eligible for points/nights/stay credit, which is what's required for MegaBonus promos.
