That sure sounds like a 2 day advance cancellation to me. In this case, I've canceled on Wed with no issues.

It sounds to me, and appears to be interpreted by marriott as the 'until' is inclusive of the day listed, and the 'after this deadline' is the next day.

You may cancel your reservation for no charge until August 16, 2017 (2 day[s] before arrival). Please note that we will assess a fee of xxx USD if you must cancel after this deadline.

Thanks for the replies. Turns out this was all in vain as Marriott denied my LookNoFurther submittal.

Has anyone run into being charged for canceling on the day of the 'until' date? I also am interpreting it as 11:59pm hotel time, but I can also see people seeing it as check in time (4pm?) or even technically 11:59pm the day before.

As someone else posted, Starwood is very clear about the cut off time... I hope they pick that up in the eventual full merger :)
