At least it sounds much less pretentious than Lido Haus. Who could stand writing such stuff?

There's a picture of the Airstream (along w/ the cabanas, etc) if you go to the property website that I linked to above. I actually tried posting the pic in the thread, but Marriott recently changed the way the url works for its images so couldn't get it to display. Ok, I figured it out - took a bit of playing around w/ the image url.

Cheers.

Wow, that Airstream better have one heck of an air conditioning system to make Palm Springs summers tolerable in there!

During the summer, I'm pretty sure the Airstream is not going to be too popular - but there will be plenty of vacancies.

OTOH, the place definitely fulfills an underrepresented niche. There are boutiques like this in Palm Springs, but IMHO. there is a glaring need for one in Palm Desert.

As of 4/27/18 hotel does not disclose it's $25 resort fee. The Marriott booking engine showed a total amount that didn't add up to the room rate + tax... a $25 difference. The small print mentions parking as an additional cost, but not the resort fee. Highly deceptive. Be warned.

Wonder what the resort fee includes...

It would be nice to know wouldn't it?

Not sure why Marriott is so bad at displaying resort fees? Here is how SPG shows them:

Example of Starwood's booking engine; there is an expandable tab under any booking/rate that includes such fees.

Anyone stay here recently? Trying to decide between this or the Triada in Palm Springs. Any recommendations?

Stayed here over Labor Day weekend. The property is very nice. Obviously everything is new, and I like the clean/modern style. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite (platinum status), which was a nice surprise over the holiday weekend. Our suite was a basic living room/bedroom set up. The people staying next to us were also upgraded via platinum status to the billiards suite, which is the same size but features a pool table instead of the traditional living room setup. I thought the rooms were nice - bathroom was good sized, bed was very comfortable, etc.

The pool was nice for relaxing. The crowd was a mix of adults and a couple families. We were fine with a few kids splashing around to avoid the pool party scene at the JW and other similar places. They have some games out in the courtyard area by the pool - corn hole, giant jenga, giant connect four, a putting green, shuffleboard, etc - that were well utilized in the evenings and made for a fun atmosphere.

Location is walking distance to a lot of shopping and restaurants along El Paseo.

My only disappointment was in the handling of the breakfast offering. They only gave a $10 voucher per room (not per guest) per day for use at the coffee/snack shop in the lobby.

Overall I would definitely recommend trying it out if you're looking in the area.
