MR posting times
 

Sorry if this is a noob question as I'm new to the MR world as I was a hardcore SPG guy and now am building both.

But how long does it take for MR to post to an account after checkout? SPG was always 1 day after checkout... always. So far in 9 Marriott stays I've had 3 two day posts, 5 three day posts, and 1 that is now 4 days without posting yet.

Is this normal for the program or do others see more consistency?

It varies. Usually when it hits your credit card w/i a few days is when you'll see it on your account. Marriott isn't as good as SPG when it comes to this.

The hotel submits the points. So the reason why the times vary is because different hotels take longer to submit the stay than others.

For me, it's been two days after check-out, and it's mostly residence inns.

My experience with short stays over the last few years (mostly at the same hotel) is that I'll check out on Thursday, and my points will post on Saturday.
