Preview 2016 hotel category changes

I made a reward reservation for a cat 3 hotel before the 2016 category changes. The hotel has now changed to a cat 2, and my reservation says that I only used 10000 points instead of the 15000 that were taken from my account when I booked.
If I cancel this reward, will I get my 15000 points back or just the 10000 points?

Wow. One of the JW Marriotts in Houston went from a 6 to a 5. I guess I know what Ill be using last years certificate on.
