Agent advised that a PP benefit allows us to book 5 day packages vs 7 day packages at lesser points. She mentioned it was only available to MVC owners and Marriott PP (not regular platinum).

The only 2 benefits that I ever saw was a small trinket ( like a charging block), and Gold Status on United. Plats got SIlver. I will say Gold was very nice, because I could get Economy + without waiting the day before. But I did not fly united enough for it really to matter.

Same here, and what's worse is in a market like SFO where there's so many 1Ks, I might as well have had no status when it came to upgrades.

Anyone get their PP gift yet?
Seems like I've always received it by now and wondering if this means I haven't been renewed.

I just got my gift today. First time I've ever qualified. Gift is a leather travel valet and small moleskin like travel journal.

Website has finally caught up
After flitting between Platinum Premier and reverting back to Lifetime Platinum for last 5 years or so. I was pleasantly surprised (although much less pleasant after finding out that United Gold was no longer a perk !) around January 10th when I logged in to find I was back in the Platinum Premier fold.
However, when I logged onto the Marriott website to make a booking last night, I was back to Platinum. Later on I checked an existing reservation on the Marriott App to find that I was still Platinum Premier and still am today !!
I’ve taken screenshot of both and was tempted to email MR .. but then I thought what benefits would I be missing out on ?

Are folks consistently seeing Platinum Premier on the website in at least one place now? I am still only seeing Platinum Elite on the website, no matter where I look, but my app says Platinum Premier Elite. I'm wondering if I got "downgraded" this year back to LTP (my spend was much lower last year), but I was still acknowledged as PP by the FDC during a check-in this past weekend in Chicago, so I kind of think I may still be PP. I guess it's not worth wasting my time wondering since UA Gold was taken away, though.

Until last night, every Marriott property this year as recognized my platinum-premier status, which I thought was interesting because reports have always been that most front desk clerks don't distinguish between platinum-elite and platinum-premier. Then last night a front desk clerk recognized me as platinum-elite. He was pretty new, however. He may have been in training because there was someone who looked like a junior manager hovering over him. We'll see what the next property says. I won't be home for a while to check the mail.

Marriott.com still displays platinum-elite, but Marriott mobile application displays platinum-premier.

That's not definitive. At least one year I was clearly PP (and was PP the year before and the year after) but never received the gift. OTOH, I haven't heard any reports of Marriott mistakenly sending the gift to someone who isn't PP.
