I tend to be naive about these things so I went ahead and took the survey. I did it in Firefox for me and in Safari for my husband. At the end, in both cases, it took me to the hotels I had last considered. So at least to that extent, it knew each of our Marriott history.

It's real- the link came to me in an email from Marriott

Interesting that it doesn't lock you out once you've filled it out.
