Singer Island Marriott
Hey guys, I am wondering if anyone has been to the Singer Island Resort and have stayed in the 2 bedroom condominium? I will be coming with 6 guests and we want a beautiful beach with a lot of things to do around town but not the whole Spring Break crowd, since we are going during March 15th-21st....
Any help would be greatly appreciated! :) |
Marriott has three properties on Singer Island. Two are timeshares: Ocean Pointe and Oceana Palms. The other is the Marriott Suites Resort. Since you mentioned you have a 2 BR condo, I assume you are staying in one of the timeshares. Both are very nice. Oceana Palms is a newer highrise near the Marriott Suites. All rooms have large balconies with a view of the ocean.
All of these properties are on the beach and have nice pools and other facilities. Singer Island is a little isolated and should not be as crowded as the surrounding areas during spring break. Although there are not a lot of resaurants or clubs within walking distance, there are several within a 15 minute drive. One of our favorite is Carmine's Trattatoria on PGA Blvd. We own a week at each of the timeshares and like this area because it is more quiet, but still close to good dining and other things to do. The area just across the bridge isn't very good, but the areas north and in West Palm Beach are very nice. If this is your first time at a Marriott timeshare, keep in mind that there is limited housekeeping service unless you pay extra for it. You will have plenty of towels and a washer/dryer and full kitchen in the villa. |
The marriott hotel has multi-bedroom condo style rooms also, not just the timeshare properties.

I didn't know the hotel had 2 BR units with kitchens. I understand the suites are really nice. I never stayed there but had dinner in the restaurant a few times and it was very good, with a view of the ocean. It looks like a very nice resort. The hotel and timeshares on Singer Island are some of the best Marriott beachfront locations in Florida.

I checked out of the Ocean Pointe hotel last week and we had a really lovely stay. We personally stayed in one of the ocean facing rooms in the Dolphin building on the top floors, whereas our friends stayed in a room in Sailfish building facing the car park. And what a difference that made!
Basically, the car park facing room felt like a motel room and the ocean facing room felt like a Four Seasons resort. Therefore, my top advice would be to request a room with an ocean view in the top floors. The rooms are also more spacious and with a larger balcony too. They are in very hard demand but you might get lucky! |
You were very fortunate to get a high floor, ocean front villa at Ocean Pointe. Since this is a timeshare, it is difficult to get the limited Ocean Front rooms because owners paid a premium for them, and only about 1/4 are ocean front. Additionally, you need to be on the third floor or higher for views of the ocean. Most of the ocean view rooms aren't too bad as long as you are on the higher floors. Ocean Pointe has lockoffs, so you can get a 2 BR, 1BR with kitchen, or the lockoff BR which is basically a small hotel room. The best chance for ocean front would be a lockoff unit, but I'm not sure whether they have a balcony. It will be very difficult to get a villa with a good view in spring because owners have priority for view assignments.
Oceana Palms is a newer, high rise, all 2 BR resort. All of the villas have a good view of the ocean and the balconies are huge. |

Starting to zone in on this property for next March. With two teenage daughters, 2 bedrooms (and more importantly, 2 bathrooms!), the 2 Bdrm option looks great. I was hoping someone could comment on the beach as that's pretty much our main focus:
- Is the beach nice? ie soft sand, no rough water, relatively uncrowded - Is it challenging to get beach chairs? We tend to sleep in so don't get to the beach until 11 am or so and at some Marriotts you are out of luck getting chairs around then. I also saw a few comments on Trip Advisor about having to pay for chairs??? - Valet parking at $24.48 a day. Another other unexpected charges? TIA |
Re: Singer Island Marriott
We stayed in the 2 bedroom, 2 bath at Marriott Singer Island. It's a lovely condo, with great views and a nice beach. I believe there may be a resort fee?? You're right next to a public park which can mean you get randoms trying to gain access to the pool facility (you can tell as they're confused by the gate/don't know the code). Other than that the condo itself is great, not sure what ppl are talking about with limited housekeeping, we had no such experience. The area to get to it (before the bridge) is a bit sketchy so just be aware. You're about 20 mins from West Palm Beach which is where all the shopping centers and attractions are.

The rooms (actually suites) scream Marriott timeshare. Only reason I can think this is the case is that the hotel owner is not interested in such a conversion. |
Well there are already two Marriott timeshare properties very close by to this hotel/resort so probably doesn't make sense to have a third in the same spot. The hotel provides additional amenities that the timshares don't.
