5th night free on non-consecutive nights?

So under the FAQ "Use cash and points" is the following on Marriott's site:
"Do I still get my 5th redemption night free with Cash + Points?
Every 5th redemption night is free when at least 5 nights are the same rate (either standard or PointSavers). The redemption nights do not need to be consecutive."
If I do a points only stay can I break up the five nights (say 3 nights then 2 a week later) and get 5th night free?

As long as your stay is contiguous nights, then yes, you will be able to use a 5th night free award in conjunction with some paid nights.

So if your stay is 7 nights, and the 2nd and 5th nights are paid, the other 5 nights can be paid for using a 5th night free award.

Only if you're staying and paying cash for the 14 nights in between.
