Getting Marriott.com to Display Average Price Per Night?

Trying to book a room in NYC, arriving Sunday night leaving Wednesday. The website of course only shows the first night's rate which is not indicative of the average rate.

Any suggestions how to see the average rate? So many hotels in NYC!

Choose your property and dates, select your rate and then on "Review Reservation Details," divide the "Total cash rate" by three.

Marriott has 50+ hotels in NYC. I'm not going to do that for all of them.

The problem is that the Sunday stay can be $135 and the Monday Stay $350! But another hotel could have Sunday stay of $200 and Monday of $250 so the first one is actually more expensive though Marriott lists it as being the cheapest!

Average nightly rate is not a feature of Marriott.com. You will need to go elsewhere to get that. But then there is no guarantee Marriott.com will have the same rates.

If this is a feature you think many may want, contacting MI would be the best option. However, their IT group has not been known to make wise choices. :(

If you are unable to winnow your choices by brand, location, amenities or some other criterion, there is not a lot more we can do for you.

I have done that (asked for a possibility to see avg. nightly rates). Their response was "our site is designed for busy executives who take the price they get". Why that "busy executive" would be worse off if he saw the more correct price is beyond me.

Who is this "we"? Are you representing Marriott here? Offering this feature (showing avg. nightly rate) is very basic programming task.

Many CSRs will make up answers to fit the situation and not address the issue. You found one of them. If we give up at the first hurdle we lose.

I once had an agent tell me what I was asking for would never have been offered. After asking for a supervisor and holding for several minutes, she came back on the line and said she just returned from maternity leave and had not caught up on her emails. I got what I wanted (was entitled to get).

Posters to this thread. If you are able to offer a solution that doesn't ask the OP to do a bit of critical thinking, I'm sure that he'd welcome your idea.

Price is a pretty important criterion especially in NYC. I'm sure OP isn't considering ALL hotels in NYC but there could easily be 10 or more that fit the other criteria.

I actually just had the same issue when trying to find a hotel in Atlanta, I'm sure NYC is much worse. I ended up looking at my corporate travel agency website, even though it was for a personal trip. Not sure if that's an option for OP.

There is a work around but it is a little cumbersome. Search for the city.location for the date you want but choose my dates are flexible. Search. You can than look at each hotel one by one for the lowest average cost and total room cost on a calendar for any month going forward (Up to where they are taking bookings from)

For instance I searched NYC for check in 7 14 for 3 days. Check flexible box. First hotel on the list was the Courtyard on E40th. It brings up a calendar for the rest of July (and I can click to go to the next month, etc) Lowest average nights was $234.33 on Friday 7 18 2014 with total cost 703. You can than use the back button to go to the next hotel. If you have specific travel dates the process goes quicker because you only have to check one date.

Just saw the OP had specific date. First group of hotels searching new york city. These are rack rates. You can also repeat the process with things like AAA, AARP, rate codes, corporate codes. It helps if you have a few properties in mind to start. I am not sure if location or price is the most important thing to OP.

The cheapest public rate in NYC was 2.5 miles away in Long Island at the FI. $135 night average with prepay

I'm trying to book my first Marriott stay and ran into this same issue. Has there been any improvements since 2014 where it's possible to see the average rate now.

I'm looking in NY and the rates vary widely over the course of my 4 night stay, so I'm hoping there is an easier way than going through the reservation process at each hotel I'm interested in to see the actual cost.
