Got in with a late flight last night, planned to sleep in till about 9 am (first day off in a couple of days).
Arrrggghhh.... 6:20am a piercing alarm goes off to my left, in the direction of the alarm clock. Still somewhat groggy, push every available button on the alarm clock, then yank the cord out and finally realize it was the fire alarm speaker just above the table. Get out of bed, begin to slip on clothes and shoes when the alarm shuts off. After a grumble or two, crawled back into bed to be jarred awake again 15 minutes later. Give up and hit the shower.
Went down and had a leisurely breakfast at the buffet, nice made to order omelette, good coffee, etc., and read my WSJ.
At checkout, the nice FD person asked how my stay was, and I mentioned that I had meant to sleep in. She apologized and noted that the alarm "is for customer safety" which of course is true. I winked and noted that I had enjoyed the breakfast... and she said the hotel would be happy to comp the breakfast for the inconvenience. I left happy.
Overall, a nice property, great FD service on checkin, nice rooms with a great view. I was given a high floor room in the back, as far as possible from the elevator. Pleasant lounge, pleasant breakfast cafe and good breakfast buffet.

Good to hear things were smoothly handled by the FD staff. It is a nice property for
being near the airport.
