New to Marriott rewards program. Found an awesomely cheap deal on getaroom.com for $79 at Marriott downtown Philly. If I book through them will I still earn points? Did a search and didn't see anything on getaroom.com.

I don't believe you'll earn Marriott points booking through 3rd party websites. However, if the rate on Marriott.com is higher than $79, you can always book the higher rate directly, then file for their Best Price Guarantee program (Look no Further) against getaroom's lower price. If successful, Marriott will not only match the $79 rate, but further discount by another 25% AND you'll earn Marriott points since your booking is directly with them vs. a third party.

Yea I didn't know about the best price guarntee and I had booked on getaroom.com about 36 hours before seeing the marriot price ....

Removed upon further reading of current rules. I have received points for stays booked on Travelocity, but this must have been an error in my favor. It was a while ago, as I usually use the Marriott website to book.

With VERY limited exceptions, no 3rd party sites are elligible for point accumulation (inc. Travelocity)....
