Rate Rules -- Posting of Double Points

I'm a Marriott newbie, just being matched to Gold due to my United status, and I just stayed at my first Marriott in many a year. The experience was positive, and I'm thinking about switching over more of my hotel stays, assuming a continuation of the United/Marriott deal. This should be a simple question, but my searches (google and in flyertalk) haven't found an answer to my question yet.

My recent stay was booked under a rate rule that by my reading, provides double Marriott points (rate rules posted below). The base points and gold 25% bonus posted promptly, but so far no dice on the "double" points. Should this post separately, or do I have to chase down these points with the MR/hotel folks? If it's the latter, yuck.

2 options…

1. Call Marriott Rewards and send them a copy of the hotel receipt and the reservation showing the rate rules and they can manually adjust the posting (a nice rep may call the property and handle it for you so you don't have to email/fax anything)

2. Call the property and tell them that they need to post the points.

You might want to wait a few more days to see if they post on their own before going through the hassle of calling...

Thanks. Property is in Asia so I'd especially like to avoid calling. Will probably be staying in two weeks using the same rate rule, just before Dec 29th, so perhaps I could even just inquire in person. . . but I hate hassles such as this.

I agree - mis-postings of points/certs happens from time to time with me as well. Thankfully, Marriott is very good about taking care of issues; usually within minutes of an initial phone call.

I am guessing that the property you are mentioning should be in Malaysia.

The Ren up the road also offered this promo, and my usual points posted 2 days after checkout, the bonus points showed up some 10 days after that.
