Lobby renovation is complete. Executive lounge is on ground floor (not a M Lounge).

I did not see computers for guest use. There is a very good, but pricey, business center behind the reception area.
The new lounge does have several smaller adjacent rooms. One has a big screen TV, but it is out of the way so you don't hear it when in the main area.

Thanks for the updates -- that is a HUGE improvement over the old lounge. I would consider actually eating breakfast or getting a drink there now. Before, I didn't even bother because of the crowding and general tightness of the entire area.

Walked out of Grosvenor House Executive Lounge
Well first for me, asked to leave a Marriott property executive lounge. We arrived at the hotel today, which is quite nice. Unfortunately the luggage did not make it. So we have walked around while waiting for the bags to arrive. During our walks we have stopped into the executive lounge three separate times.
This evening while sitting in the lounge I went to a restroom located in the lounge. When I walked out the bathroom one of executive lounge reps was waiting to speak to me. He informed me that there was a dress code for lounge access and my long sleeve shirt, cargo pants and crocks (travel clothes) were inappropriate and I would have to leave the lounge.
I explained about delayed luggage and told him I would leave but needed to go and get my wife. He started to stop me and I assured him I would get her and we would leave the lounge.
There is a dress code and believe me I am no where close to casual elegant, but there are many people in the lounge not close to casual elegant. It was quite embarrassing to be walked out of an executive lounge especially after having nice conversation throughout the day with other lounge members.
Not that it should mean anything but I am a lifetime platinum

I would definitely take this up with the hotel manager. If you're sitting there in sweatpants and a wifebeater, then maybe you go and throw on some shorts and a polo. But typically speaking, I don't put on a suit and tie to go to a concierge lounge, and no one should.

Out of curiosity, what is the dress code policy for the lounge that they quoted you before escorting you out? Was there something specific they claimed you were violating?

First I have ever heard of a dress code for the executive lounge! I've even seen folk come in with the Marriott slippers on their feet and not a word said to them. Definitely make a fuss about it to hotel manager!

I've seen people in casual attire at GH, so don't know if the evening exec lounge attendant was just a bit overzealous. Given the lost luggage situation one would think he'd make an exception, especially since the daytime attendants didn't say anything.
Cheers.

I've seen other E/CLs that had a posted dress code.
As long as the dress code is posted, I have no problem with a lounge have one and enforcing it. If the GH's policy was posted, there is no basis for a "fuss" being made.
Full disclosure: In olden times, I was denied entry to Admirals Club because I was wearing shorts. I forgot that I had them but I was aware of the prohibition and was fine with getting the boot.
Personal disclosure: Crocs should be a violation of life's dress code. YMMV.

Okay this is a Marriott CL, not the Bohemian Club !! If I walked in wearing a nice pair of shorts with a golf shirt and had some attendant tell me I was not dressed appropriately and to leave, I would laugh at him first, then tell him to go get me a glass of red wine, preferably the "Cab".

We'll have to wait for the OP to chime in on what exactly the property had issue with... but the only thing I can think of is they have a rule on no open-toed shoes/sandals/flip-flops for men, and considered Crocs to be in that category?
I've definitely heard that some properties in BKK are strict about the no open-toed shoes rule for both men and women, though that supposedly goes more toward cultural norms about exposed feet there.
