The bus stop is directly in front of the hotel - less than 30m from the main entrance. . . assuming they haven't changed it from last summer.

That's great! Where can I find schedule and/or book it?

The current airport bus schedule by Chuo Bus specifically says "does NOT stop at Renaissance Sapporo". Perhaps there is another bus company?

Yes, it does look like they changed it.

If it's any help, I frequently walked between the hotel and city center - a pleasant walk in summer. So, if you can get to the center and don't have tons of luggage. . .

FWIW: In my three visits, I have never failed to LNF this hotel, getting down to absurdly low rates, even in summer. (In fact, this is the cheapest FS Marriott property I have ever booked. And, that's before the recent yen plunge.) Except, of course, for some late spring/early summer Sat. nights, when the hotel frequently books-up for wedding parties.

Received a heads up from a FTer that the property is leaving the Marriott family April 1, 2015.

"In regards to your inquiry, we contacted the Renaissance Sapporo hotel and were given the following information:

Please be advised that as of April 1, 2015, this hotel will no longer operate as a Marriott property. Guests calling with questions or needing reservations may contact NobueShiozawa at the hotel directly by calling 9011- 81-11-821-1111."

They offer a free shuttle from Sapporo station on the North side.

Chuo buses going over TOYOHIRA Bashi also stop there (61、72、75、80、83、85、86、88).

From the airport, they recommend Chuo or Hokuto. According to the schedule from December 2014, Chuo does have a bus that stops there:

http://www.chuo-bus.co.jp/highway/ai...c=3138&trjs=19 (I don't know if there's an English version of that page).

As does Hokuto (http://www.hokto.co.jp/a_sapporo_t.htm)

I think you're misreading the English version. What it means is that bus times with a * do not stop at the Renaissance.

Hello,
Given the property is going to deflag as a Marriott property, does any one know if it is going to be independently run? Any update on how they would honor the reservations made before April 1?
All in all, it is a solid property with good services. Gonna miss it as a Marriott property!

And yes, I echo what virmaior has mentioned. Most buses will stop right in front of the hotel from the CTS airport.

Happy travels

Thank you, virmaior and kikid.^

This is weird cause I was just on the Marriott site and the hotel is still operating under the Marriott/Renaissance label. I could book a room in September.

Maybe they've extended it?

Cheers.

Can't find this Ren on Marriott web site (even on Renaissance's own web site), it returns this message:

"The hotels in this location are unavailable for your dates and/or special rates. Try changing your travel dates and/or special rate request. For stays of more than 220 days, please call in the US 1-888-236-2427 or phone number for a reservation agent near you."

I was trying to book room for September.

However OTAs still show hotel name remains as Renaissance (if in fact it had deflagged).

Have not yet called MR.

Did you look at the wiki?

I have booked a room in September and even did a LNF claim. It is still in the marriott website but cannot be booked for date after 29/9. I have checked their JP website, it will change name to premier hotel tsubaki sapporo after 1/10.
